Life of an Alaskan Author

I'm an Alaskan author, yet not quite where I want to be as a writer. Now I'm suddenly hearing the world after 40 years of being Deaf! Here are glimpses of my life as an author, Alaska Sisters in Crime member, a Federal writer-editor, photographer, and mom. Welcome!

About Me

My photo
Alaska Author
I've been a published writer since I was 14, and have now published 13 books and ghostwritten several more. I've worked as a journalist-correspondent, editor, photographer, speechwriter, Peace Corps volunteer, and have over two decades in the Federal govt. I've been married to Ron since I first visited Alaska and fell down a cliff in Seldovia while videotaping the sunset over Mt. Spur volcano! I broke my fibula and ankle badly, delaying my departure from Alaska, and resulting in a marriage proposal before I returned to my job and home in the Four Corners region of Colorado! I married and moved to Anchorage in 1994 and have been here ever since. I'm active in Alaska Sisters in Crime and am doing the publications for the 2007 World Mystery Convention-Bouchercon. My husband is retired from the US Fish and Wildlife Service. We share a love of Nikons and photography. Our son Jamie is nearly 11 years old and finishing fourth grade. On June 20 of 2007, I had bilateral cochlear implant surgery and now can hear more than I am comfortable with, as I continue a journey of entering the Hearing World after 40 years of Deafness.
